HongKongisaworldsymboloftrade,enterprise,freedomandglobalinterdependence.Visitorscomehereforfashionandfood.Theworldcoumesyourelectronicsproductsandyourmovies.AndeveryAmerican,whohaseverwantedtotravelanywhere,haswantedtocometoHongKong.Thisis,itistrue,thefirstvisittoHongKongofaPresidentandafortuitousoneformethatIcancomeandwishallofyouahayaiversary.ButitisnotmyfirsttriptoHongKong.MywifeandIhavebothbeenhereinourpreviouslives,oraswesaywhenwearebackhome,backwhenwehadalife.范文先生版权所有

IwantyoutoknowthattheUnitedStatescoidersHongKongvitaltothefuturenotonlyofChinaandAsia,butoftheUnitedStatesandtheworldaswell.Ourtiesmustgrowstrongerandtheywill.Andthispresentfinancialcrisistoo,willpa,ifweworktogetherwithdisciplineandvisiontoliftthefortunesofourneighbors.BelievemethereisnooneinAmericawhois
noteagerlyawaitingtheresumptionofrealgrowthandstabilityintheAsianeconomyandwearepreparedtodowhateverwecantosuortit.WealsoareciatewhatChinaandHongKonghavedoneandthepricethathasbeenpaidtostablizethesituation.
