Goodmorning.Thisweek,Americareceivedastarkreminderthatterroristsarestillplottingattackstokillourpeople.BegiingonWednesdaynight,authoritiesinGreatBritainarrestedmorethan20individualswhowebelievewereplottingtodetonateliquidexplosivesaboardflightsfromtheUnitedKingdomtotheUnitedStates.Iftheseterroristshadsucceeded,theycouldhavecauseddeathonamaivescale.Theplotaearstohavebeencarefullyplaedandwell-advanced.Theyplaedtobringthecomponentsoftheirexplosivesonboardintheircarry-onluggage,disguisedasbottleddrinksandelectronicdevices.

Webelievethatthisweek'sarrestshavesignificantlydisruptedthethreat.Yetwecaotbesurethatthethreathasbeeneliminated.Soasaprecaution,onThursday,thefederalgovernmenttookseveralstetoincreasesecurityatourairportsandaboardourplanes.
