On the Traits of the Right of impawn in China

[Abstract]: The term of impawn can be traced back to Zhou dynasty firstly in the history of China. the right of impawn appear since NanBei dynasty firstly .Through the development during Tang Song and Yuan dynasty, the right of impawn is established in the law and differentiates from the sale in Qing dynasty. However, the difference between impawn and mortgage is ascertained in Mingguo period.
